Homecoming at Hancock school next week

Hancock Public School will be observing Homecoming Week Sept. 17-21 at the school. The week will kick off on Monday with each day of the week designated with a special theme. The coronation of the Homecoming royalty will take place on Monday night with the king and queen reigning throughout the week-long activities.

Monday has been designated as PJ/Autograph Day. Prior to coronation the Hancock Commercial Club will host a Soup and Pie Supper at the Community Center. Serving will take place from 5-7 p.m.

The Homecoming coronation ceremony will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the gym. The senior candidates for king and queen are as follows:

Tuesday has been designated as Punk Rock Day. That night the volleyball team will host Wheaton/Herman-Norcross starting at 6:15 p.m..

Wednesday is class color day at the school. The colors by class are: seniors and sixth black, juniors and fifth pink, sophomores and fourth green, freshmen and third blue, eighth and second orange, seventh and first white and kindergarten maroon.

Thursday is Costume Day and Friday will be Spirit Day. There will be a parade starting at 1:30 on Friday followed by a pep fest at 2:40 p.m.

The Owls will take on Ashby in the homecoming game at the football field starting at 7:00 p.m. A tailgate party will precede the game sponsored by the post prom committee.

The Homecoming Dance will be held on Saturday night from 9-12 at the school.
