A warrant has been issued for a Bemidji woman charged with gaming violations in Hubbard County.

Dawn Gail Marie Carlson, 28, failed to show up for a court appearance Aug. 20 in Hubbard County District Court, so a warrant was issued.

Carlson is charged with tampering with pulltabs at Grace Lake Bar & Grill in late 2011.

Video surveillance allegedly showed Carlson prying open the charitable pull tabs to determine if there was a winner and claiming the prize if they indicated a winning ticket. Losing tickets would be placed back into the jar and sold to unsuspecting customers, the criminal complaint states.

The bar also audited its books and videotapes and discovered Carlson has stolen cash and objects from that establishment, the complaint states.

Carlson is charged with two counts of gambling violations, each punishable by a maximum of 1 year and/or a $3,000 fine, and theft, which carries a maximum punishment of 90 days and/or a $1,000 fine upon conviction.
