Head coach Dan Magner is thrilled with the incoming players.

"I am very happy that each of these young women has made the University of Minnesota, Morris their college choice. Each of them had many options, yet chose to attend UMM to further their academic, social and athletic pursuits. I know that they will fit in very well with our returning students and enhance our team."

"I chose to attend UMM for various reasons. I have always wanted to leave the state of Indiana, ever since fourth of fifth grade, actually. I also knew I wanted to play soccer then, so I knew that was going to be an important factor in which college I chose. I have always been interested in science, and when I took environmental science last year, I fell in love with the subject. So I wanted to find a school that offered an environmental science major and D3 sports.

"Once I found UMM, I browsed around the site and became interested. I fell in love with the images and immediately applied. When I got the letter stating that I was accepted, I was ecstatic. My parents and I set up a visit, and even though it was the middle of winter (and I hate cold), I still loved UMM. I loved the campus, the people, the atmosphere. It just felt right, from the coaches to the helpful counselors and students I talked to. I knew for sure that this was going to be my future college, home, and where I was going to spend four years of my life."

Sarah Timpane (St. Cloud, Minn.) Apollo High School

Athletic Awards: Most school spirit; Sportsmanship Award, captain for track & field team

Major: Psychology

"I chose to attend UMM because it's far away yet close enough to go home when I need to. Being able to play soccer was a huge plus and I heard lots of great things from former students."
