Jaguars out-rebound the Tigers

The Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta boys basketball team opened up the season at home against Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Tuesday, Nov. 26.
The Jaguars of B-B-E— 25-2 last season— are poised to repeat another run in the playoffs, while the Tigers are in rebuilding mode with all young, fresh feet on the court this year. The scoreboard read that at the end of the game as the Tigers fell to the Jaguars of B-B-E 73-37.
The game started with a Jaguar block within the first thirty seconds of the tip off, which set the pace and momentum in favor of the Jaguars. The
Jaguars went on a 12-0 run to start the game, and were up 24-4 with 9:51 left in the first half. The turnovers by the Tigers aided the Jaguars, who ended up ahead 40-15 going into halftime.
The second half was much like the first with momentum on the Jaguars side. The Tigers were out-rebounded by Jaguar height, and the Jaguars ended the game with a plus-8 advantage in rebounds. In one possession, the Jaguars had as many as four chances to get a shot in with all their offensive boards.
Brian Goodwin led the Jaguars in the victory with 19 points. Billy Borgerding followed with 15, Tanner Heinsius 11 and Trey Heinsius 9.
For the Tigers, Eric Staebler sparked the Tigers with ten points, ten rebounds, and three assists. Noah Grove added nine points. Nathan Anderson shot 100 percent from the free throw line, and contributed five points and two rebounds in the loss.
