Funeral services for James Paul Grotjohn, age 43, of Watertown, S.D. will be at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2008 in the Grace Lutheran Church, Watertown. Rev. Stephen Lauricella will officiate. Music will be provided by Marcia Jelsma as organist with congregational singing. James passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at his residence in Watertown.

Burial will be at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be all of James' family and friends. Active pallbearers will be: Danny Brekke, Melvin Erickson, Justin Grotjohn, Peter Zimmer, Ron Brekke, and Jim Fitzgerald.

Visitation will be prior to services at the church on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. The family is requested to meet at the church on Friday by 6:30 p.m. for a prayer service.

James was born on June 8, 1964 at Morris, MN to Paul and Elaine (Helberg) Grotjohn. He attended Morris High School and received his GED later.

On July 19, 1996, James married Linda Brekke at Watertown, S.D. Following their marriage, the couple resided in Sioux Falls for five years and then moved to Watertown. He worked for Twin City Die Casting Co., the Human Service Agency, and Medallion Homes.

James was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. He enjoyed playing pool, riding his motorcycle, singing karaoke, and hanging out with family and friends.

James is survived by his wife, Linda Grotjohn, of Watertown, SD; three sons: Paul Grotjohn and Jesse Grotjohn, both of Watertown, SD and Jordan Grotjohn, of Clearwater, MN; three daughters: Kiersten Grotjohn and Kaylie Grotjohn, both of Watertown, SD and Heather Grotjohn, of Clearwater, MN; his parents, Paul and Elaine Grotjohn, of Morris, MN; two brothers: Joe and his wife, Julie Grotjohn, of Hawley, MN and Ron Grotjohn of Sioux Falls, SD; and two sisters: Cheryl Lawson, of Alex, MN and Theresa Drewes, of Park Rapids, MN.

He was preceded in death by his nephew, Mitch; his grandparents; and his sister-in-law, Lisa Grotjohn.

Crawford Funeral Chapel, Watertown, S.D. is in charge of arrangements.
