Jason Dean Jacoby, age 44 of Sauk Rapids, Minn., passed away June 26, 2012. Funeral services were held on June 30, 2012 at Living Waters Lutheran Church in Sauk Rapids, Minn. Officiating clergy was Rev. Denise Hanson. Pallbearers were Dave McLeod, Craig Carlson, Craig Hinrichs and Byron Hinrichs.
Jason Jacoby was born Jan. 12, 1968, at the Ottumwa Hospital, in Ottumwa, Iowa to Michael and Adelle (Milde) Jacoby. He was baptized on March 30, 1968 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hancock, Minn. and confirmed in 1983 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hector, Minn. His early childhood was spent in Morris, Minn. He attended Country Day Nursery, Longfellow and Morris Elementary Schools. He was active in Cub and Boy Scouts and the Tiger Sharks Swim Team. His family moved to Hector in 1981. Jason and his father reactivated the Boy Scout program in Hector and he attained the rank of 1st Class and was a member of The Order of The Arrow. He graduated from Hector High School with honors with the class of 1986.
On Sept. 7, 1991, he married Lisa Hinrichs at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clara City, Minn.. They lived in Willmar, where Jason graduated from Willmar Vo-Tech with a degree in Auto Parts Management, prior to moving to Sauk Rapids in 1992. Jason worked in the auto parts industry for over 19 years. They were blessed with a daughter, Lauren in 1996. Jason was a member of Living Waters Lutheran Church and the Dance Team Boosters. He enjoyed cars, NASCAR and was an avid Jeff Gordon fan. He also enjoyed reading, trips to the North Shore and spending time with his wife and daughter, attending all of Lauren's activities. Jason was very artistic, had a keen sense of humor, loved animals and had a fantastic memory of trivial facts and history. He was always up for fun, including skydiving with his mother for her 60th birthday. Jason was a loving, caring, protective, generous, and soft-spoken son, brother, husband and father.
Survivors include his wife, Lisa and daughter Lauren of Sauk Rapids; parents, Michael and Adelle Jacoby of Hector; sister, Heather Jacoby (Geoff Higginson), Jacob and David of Surrey, British Columbia, Canada; father-in-law, Louie Hinrichs of Clara City; brothers-in law, Larry (Eunice) Hinrichs of Maynard, Roslyn (Erich), Byron (Sara); James (Vicky) Hinrichs of Clara City, Craig (Amanda), Angie (Paul), Jeff (Amanda) and David (Mindy); and Roger Hinrichs and friend Rob of Clearwater; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jason was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence and Bernice Jacoby and Earl & Sylvia Milde; great-grandmothers Marie Milde Johnson, and Elizabeth Michalek, mother-in-law, Elaine Hinrichs; brother-in law, Steven Hinrichs; and nephew, Scott Hinrichs.
