Jeff Backer leads Nancy Taffe in District 12A primary

MORRIS – With nearly 50 percent of precincts reporting, Jeff Backer of Browns Valley is leading Nancy Taffe of Morris 75 percent to 25 percent in the Republican primary for Minnesota House District 12A.

At about 10:05 p.m., Backer has recorded 942 votes, while Taffe has 306 votes. Only three of 26 precincts in Stevens County have reported results.

Incumbent Democrat Jay McNamar, who is not facing a primary challenger, has received 638 votes.
