Jr. High Owls in comeback win
Owls explode with 16 runs in the top of the 7th to beat Hillcrest
Hancock went scoreless in the top of the 1st. Hillcrest scores two runs in the bottom of the 1st to take the lead 2-0. The 2nd inning was scoreless by both teams. In the top of the 3rd Hancock scores one run with Anthony Koehl scoring. In the bottom of the 3rd Hillcrest scored two more runs to give them the lead 4-1. The 4th, 5th and 6th innings were scoreless by both teams going into the last inning with Hillcrest still leading 4-1. Hancock rallied for 16 big runs in the 7th. With Justin Miller scoring once, Anthony Koehl scoring twice, Patrick Koehl scoring twice, Phillip Schaefer scoring once, Taylor Holleman scoring twice, Brendan Jensen scoring twice, Jerid Berning scoring twice, Ross Ascheman scoring twice, Logan Kisgen scoring once and Will Osterman scoring once giving Hancock the lead 17-4 and Hillcrest went scoreless in the bottom of the 7th giving Hancock the win 17-4.
Offensively the bats didn't warm up until the 7th inning when they were on fire. With Patrick Koehl, Brendan Jensen and Jerid Berning leading the Owls with two hits each and Philip Schaefer contributing with three RBIs.
Defensively some great plays came from Taylor Holleman making a diving catch at the catcher's position and Justin Miller also making a great catch in right field. Patrick Koehl picked up the win pitching six innings and eight strikeouts. Anthony Koehl also did a nice job pitching in the 7th inning picking up two strikeouts. The kids stayed focused throughout the entire game allowing things to go our way in the top of the 7th making a great comeback to win the game.
