Jr. High Owls go 1-1 with Ashby

The Hancock Owls junior high football team scored first in game one off a Patrick Koehl touchdown run with the two point conversion successful on a Patrick Koehl run giving the Owls a 8-0 lead. In the second quarter the Owls score on a touchdown pass from Philip Schaefer to Patrick Koehl with the two point conversion unsuccessful this round giving the Owls a 14-0 lead.

Ashby responds with a touchdown run and the their two point conversion was successful giving the Owls a 14-8 lead at half.

In the third quarter Koehl scored on a touchdown run with a two point conversion successful with a Collin Brown connection to Jerid Berning on a pass. Ashby follows with a touchdown run and two point conversion unsuccessful giving the Owls a 22-14 lead after three quarters.

In the fourth quarter Patrick Koehl scored again with the two point conversion coming up unsuccessful. The Owls get one more score on a big interception by Jerid Berning scoring a touchdown with the two point conversion unsuccessful. Ashby follows again with a touchdown run and their two point conversion successful giving the Owls a 34-22 victory.

Defensively, Jerrid Jepma three assists, Brendan Jensen four solos and seven assists, Kayla Crowell four assists, Will Osterman one solo and six assists, Anthony Koehl one assist, Nathan Koehl one assist, Seth Nelson one assist, Brandon Shaw one assist, Justin Miller four solos and one assist, Jerid Berning two solos, four assists and one interception, Patrick Koehl one solo and three assists.

In game two Ashby jumped out with a 26 to 0 lead with the Owls only touchdown coming on a Collin Brown quarterback sneak with the two point conversion successful on a Collin Brown pass to Brendan Jensen giving Ashby a 26-8 victory over the Owls.

Defensively, Brendan Jensen four solos and two assists, Kayla Crowell two solos and three assists, Will Osterman two solos and two assists, Anthony Koehl one assist, Brett Kellner three solos and four assists, Max Feuchtenberger two solos and one assist, Nathan Koehl one solo, Brandon Shaw three solos and three assists and Justin Miller four solos and four assists.

This brings the Owls record to 21-1 overall and 5-0 in conference play.
