Hancock 8th grade football team played the first game of the year against Chokio-Alberta-Herman-Norcross. In the first half Philip Schaefer scored on a 25 yard bootleg for the Owls followed by a two point conversion by Patrick Koehl on a toss play. The Owls scored again with a Philip Schaefer punt return followed by a Patrick Koehl two point conversion on a run play giving the Owls a 16-0 lead. Philip Schaefer connected on a 15 yard touchdown pass to Justin Peterson followed by a two point conversion that was no good giving the Owls a 22-0 lead going into half time.

In the second half the Owls scored one more time with Patrick Koehl scoring on a 35 yard option play with the two point conversion coming up unsuccessful. C-A-H-N scored their only touchdown giving the Owls a 28-6 win.

Defensively: Logan Kisgen had one interception, Philip Schaefer had one solo and two assists, Brendan Jensen two assists, Cole Voorhees one solo, Kayla Crowell two solos and one assist, Will Osterman two solos and two assists, Anthony Koehl one solo and four assists, Collin Brown one assist, Brett Kellner one assist and one sack, Max Feuchtenberger one solo, three assists and one sack, Alex Copa two assists, Justin Miller two solos and Jerid Berning three assists.

The Owls came up with some big defensive plays with Logan Kisgen's interception and Brett Kellner and Max Feuchtenbergers sacks. One standout block was on a punt return by Kayla Crowell in the first half. This puts the 8th grade Owls at 1-0.
