Junior high football team loses to Ashby
Ashby rushed out to a three touchdown lead in the first half and played stellar defense is a 28-0 win over the Hancock junior high football team.
Ashby scored a touchdown in the first quarter and two more in the second quarter to take a 22-0 halftime lead.
Ashby scored again in the third quarter putting the score at 28-0. Neither team scored the rest of the game.
Defensively, in tackles, Hancock'd Philip Schaefer had 3 solos and 1 assist, Taylor Holleman had 4 solos and 1 assist, Brendan Jensen had 1 solo and 1 assist, Cody Johnson contributed 4 solos, 2 assists, and 1 sack, Patrick Koehl had 4 solos and 5 assists, Jerid Berning had 1 solo and 3 assists, Anthony Koehl had 1 solo and 6 assists, Brandon Shaw had 1 solo and 1 assist and Ross Ascheman had 1 solo and 4 assists.
The game's winner for Hancock Co-op offensive line player goes to Ross Ascheman, who did a great job blocking, and the Hancock Co-op defensive line player goes to Cody Johnson, who did a great job on the defensive side. Coach Cory Bedel gave offensive player of the game to Anthony Koehl and defensive player to Patrick Koehl, who led the team with 9 tackles.
