Kallista Banister to participate in American Miss pageant
Kallista Banister, eight-year-old daughter of Brian and Kim Banister of Starbuck, has been chosen as a state finalist in the National American Miss Minnesota pageant which will be held June 7-8 at the Doubletree Hotel in Bloomington. The National American Miss pageants are held for girls ages 4-18, and have five different age divisions. Kallista will be participating in the Junior-pre-teen age division, along with other young ladies from across the state.
The winner of the pageant will receive a $1,000 cash award, the official crown and banner, a bouquet of roses, and air transportation to compete in the national pageant in California where she will receive an exciting complimentary tour of Hollywood and two V.I.P tickets to Disneyland.
Kalista is active in Just for Kix dance; Hancock dance team; Community Ed basketball, t-ball, and volleyball. She enjoys reading, playing with her American Girl doll, sticker collecting, snowmobiling, movies, playing computer games and tablet and spending time with friends and family. Her sponsors include Dell Hilleren, Amundson Peterson, H & H Vet Clinic, Olde Town Antiques, Darlene Rose, DeMarce Theatre, Dori Gades and Stevens Community Medical Center.
