The College of St. Scholastica women's cross country team ran to their 12th straight title at the 2012 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Cross Country Championship at Flandreau State Park in New Ulm on Saturday.
Linda Keller of the University of Minnesota, Morris was named UMAC Women's Individual Cross Country Champion for the fourth consecutive year by being the first to cross the finish line with a time of 21:34. Keller's performance led her team to a second place finish with a score of 45 points. She is joined on the All-Conference list by teammates Amanda Peters and Madeline Gehrig who finished in the eighth and tenth place, respectively, with times of 24:08 and 24:28.
The Saints, who were led by Chelsea Johnson, had seven runners finish in the top 12 overall and finished the event with a team score of 22. Johnson finished the race in second place with a time of 21:47 and was followed by teammates Liz Braml and Kristin Gronbeck who placed in third and fourth with times of 23:53 and 23:56 respectively. The next Saint across the finish line was Andrea Morgren in sixth place, posting at time of 24:01 followed by teammates Kyla Krause in seventh place with a time of 24:05 and Stacy Gustafson and Bre Adams in ninth and eleventh with times of 24:19 and 24:34. All seven earned All-Conference for finishing in the top 12 overall with Johnson earning the accolade for the second consecutive year, while Gronbeck made it four straight All-UMAC honors.
North Central University finished in third place with 94 points followed by Martin Luther College in fourth with a team total of 104. Northwestern College finished in fifth with Northland College, Bethany Lutheran College and Crown College rounding out the field.
