Funeral services for Kenneth Zeltwanger of Hancock were held on Friday, March 18, 2005 at the Apostolic Christian Church of rural Morris. The Apostolic Christian Church ministers officiated.Burial was in the church cemetery.
Kenneth Robert Zeltwanger, son of William Sr. and Lillian (Eisenmann) Zeltwanger, was born on Nov. 7, 1923, on the family farm near Hancock. He grew up in that area and attended Hancock Public School.
After his schooling he worked on the family farm.
On Sept. 15, 1946, he was united in marriage to Edna Meiss in Cissna Park, Ill. The couple lived and farmed near Ken's family for a few years, and in 1952 they purchased th efarm where they now live in Moore Township.<
Ken loved the farm and remained active in the farming operation until the time of his illness this January.
Kenneth was a long-time member of the Apostolic Christian Church near Morris. He also served on the Hancock Co-op Board for 32 years. His greatest enjoyment in life came from time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Kenneth died on Tuesday, March 15, at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls, having lived to reach the age of 81 years.
He is survived by his wife:Edna Zeltwanger of Hancock; three sons: Dale (Rachel) Zeltwanger of Hancock,Loren (Rhonda) Zeltwanger of Goodfield, Ill., and Rollyn (Jodi) Zeltwanger of Hancock; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers: John(Mabel) Zeltwanger of Hancock, William Zeltwanger Jr. of Round Top, TX, and Lyle (Marilyn) Zeltwanger of Valparaiso, IN; three sisters: Ann (Harold) Meiss of Washington, IL, Vila (Floyd) Schmidgall of Morris, and Ila (Harold) Gramm of Hancock; one brother-in-law: Albert Joos of Hancock; and two sisters-in-law:Mary Zeltwanger of Alexandria and Dorothy Zeltwanger of Hancock.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Lowell and Dean; and by two sisters: Doris Zeltwanger and Edith Joos.
Pallbearers for the servic were Kenneth's grandsons: Adam Zeltwanger, Micah Zeltwanger, Jeffrey Zeltwanger, Matthew Zeltwanger and Nathan Zeltwanger. The Apostolic Christian Church choir provided music for the service. Pedersen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
