Kurt Kruize dies in Iraq

The Department of Defense announced the death of Kurt Kruize of Hancock who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. He died Sunday, April 4 in Baghdad, Iraq. Kurt is the son of Lyle and Bev Kruize of Hancock. He is also survived by his wife, Billie and four children along with two sisters, Tammy and Kari, and a brother Darren and their families. He was a 1993 graduate of Hancock High School and was 35 years old. Funeral services are pending but will probably be held in the St. Cloud area. His body arrived at Dover Air Force Base on Tuesday, April 6 and was met by his wife and military escorts. He was a member of a unit out of St. Cloud and had been deployed to Iraq in January for his second tour. He previously served there in 2003.
