Local and state law enforcement officials are investigating a suspected arson fire in Morris Township.

An empty house at 20773 461st Ave. sustained damage in a fire reported to the Morris Fire Department and the Stevens County Sheriff's Office at about 5:30 a.m. Saturday, July 29, according to Sheriff's Deputy Tom Loew.

The fire was reported by a neighbor who saw smoke coming from the home, Loew said.

The home is owned by Jamie Lubenow, of Mayer, Minn., but had been empty for several months, Loew said.

The State Fire Marshal's office has been at the house twice conducting its investigation. The office's investigator did not immediately return a call seeking comment on the situation.

Anyone with information possibly related to the fire is encouraged to contact the Sheriff's Office at (320) 589-1155, Loew said.
