Letter: Donating blood can help save lives
Did you know that the donation of one pint of blood can save up to three lives? Being a blood donor is truly one of the most precious gifts a person can give to another in need. The American Red Cross will be conducting its annual summer blood drive on the University of Minnesota, Morris campus on Wednesday, July 16 in the Student Center from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. The bloodmobile will also be in Hancock the following day.
To those of you who have donated in the past – thank you! The Morris Area Women of Today are assisting the Red Cross in calling previous donors for appointments to donate, should they want to donate again this summer. Appointments help prevent waiting for a donation chair, although walk-ins are always welcome.
You can also register to be a donor online by visiting www.redcrossblood.org. The website also has useful information on who can be a donor and where to call for any questions regarding donation.
