Letter: New-fangled marriage definition removes children from the equation
Marriage was the only institution in the law, which united children to their natural mothers and fathers. With a stroke of the pen, “lawmakers” recently managed to re-define this venerable institution, which is based not on religion only, but also upon natural law.
The new-fangled definition removes biologic children from the equation. Children are no longer naturally factored into this new definition.
Years from now people will wonder why children are taking the brunt of the associated problems from a situation “lawmakers” have helped create. There will be many more “innovation” of this definition to come.
Nature always eventually rejects these types of novelties. There will be much pain from this in the meantime, especially for the children. Chesterton once said: “We don't know what we are doing, because we don't know what we are undoing.”
