I am deeply disturbed over the news of a 48-month sentence being handed out in the recent case of a drunk driver killing a 5-month old baby in rural Starbuck last summer.
Why should the rest of us sacrifice our safety and the safety of our families if we have to travel out on the road because for some inexplicable reason this guy somehow deserves freedom a mere 48 months after he was first put in jail for murder? I have some very pointed questions for any state lawmaker I can get ahold of over this situation.
My opinion of the court system and anyone associated with it? I'd rather not go there. If you don't think driving drunk and killing someone is murder, ask the family of that 5-month old baby what they think.
