Good deeds of community
What a fabulous community we live in. Every year in November, the Evangelical Free Church packages boxes for operation Christmas Child. Operation Christmas child is a project of Samaritan's purse and what they do is gather shoe boxes that people have filled with personal gifts and they deliver them all over the world to hurting children.
For most children this is the only gift they receive throughout the year and one box is shared with up to 10 people in one family. This year the Evangelical Free Church alone packed over 120 Christmas boxes. But for the first time, Morris Evangelical Free Church was a drop off site and we collected over 800 boxes. What joy this will bring to children who are less fortunate in countries that have so little.
We cannot express the gratitude we have for the people in the Morris community and surrounding areas. We may be small, but this just proves what an impact we can make on others in the world when we all pitch in to give a little of our time and money.
Thank you to all the businesses and families that donated to this great cause. With the help of our great community, we are able to share the story of the birth of Jesus and the true meaning of Christmas to others around the world. God bless you all.
