Expo great for community
A great opportunity for everyone in the area is coming up on Feb. 17. The Resource Connections Expo will be at the Armory from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The purpose of the Expo is to let everyone know about all of the services available to them. The non-profit organizations that participate set up a booth and provide information about the services they provide.
Last year there were close to 60 providers sharing their information.
Resource Connections has a web site so that if someone is looking for a service they don't have to make 20 phone calls to find what they need. Resource Connections volunteers will be at the Expo with a computer showing everyone how easy it is to access the web site and get the information they need. There is also a calendar of events on the web site. This helps the non-profit organizations to better schedule their activities as well as keeping the general public informed.
And there is a free meal! There will be a donations basket somewhere in the Armory for anyone who feels that they would like to help to defray expenses and assure that the Expo will continue. There were many positive comments about last year's Expo. If you are part of a non-profit organization that hasn't been contacted about participating in the Expo and would like to be a part of it, call right now at (320) 392-5451.
