City crew does good work removing tree
I would like to extend my thanks and give a compliment to the City of Morris crew that came and cleaned up the tree that fell in my yard late on a Friday afternoon. The tree was a large maple planted in 1900, and from the time the city was contacted it took only two hours to be cut up and hauled away. A great job well done. (Note the size of the tree in the photo above).

Two thanks for Veterans Day Program
On behalf of the AMVETS and AMVETS Auxiliary, we would like to express our gratitude for the outstanding expression of patriotism and appreciation displayed by the Morris Area elementary and high school students and staff. Their veterans program was truly awesome. We salute you, the FFA, Student Council, Natasha Mortenson and Peg Rinkenberger, for recognizing the efforts given by these fine soldiers who were willing to sacrifice their lives for the freedom and democracy of this great nation.
AMVETS David F Day Post 290 and Ladies Auxiliary
Members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5039, Morris were very impressed with the Veteran's Day program presented by the Morris Schools on Nov. 8. All servicemen were honored, which is important - it takes all branches of the service and total support staff to make the military complete.
The students showed great attentiveness and respect in honoring the veterans. The program was good and the music was wonderful. Thanks for an absolutely fine afternoon honoring our veterans. A special thank you to Natasha Mortenson and Peg Rinkenberger for heading up this great program.
