Flag missing, return wanted
Each holiday, members of the VFW, Legion, AMVets and Sons of Legion place 50 United State flags along 7th street in Morris near the Veterans' Memorial, called the Avenue of Flags.
Well, on Monday evening when we returned to take down the flags after Labor Day, one was missing, and the aluminum pole was badly bent.
We'd like to know if someone stole the flag, if someone vandalized the pole and took the flag, or if someone accidentally hit the pole and then took the flag for safekeeping. If anyone knows let me know.
We'd like the flag to be returned. It is a 5 by 8 foot flag, called a 'casket flag', that was donated to the Memorial by survivors after the flag covered the casket of a dead hero .
No questions asked.
