Lillian A. Hall
Lillian A. Hall, age 94 of Aitkin died Sunday, April 24, 2011 at the Aicota Health Care Center in Aitkin.
Lillian was born June 29, 1916 at Morris, the daughter of Henry and Mary (Hermson) Grote. She grew up and attended schools in Morris, graduating from St. Mary's Catholic High School. She then moved to St. Paul and went to work for Snyder Drug in St. Paul. She married Ernest Hall on Feb. 18, 1947 at Hudson, Wis. They made their home in St. Paul and Lillian worked for Reed Ray Film in St. Paul. In 1970 they purchased a cabin on Elm Island Lake and spent as much time at the cabin as they could until 1989 when they retired to Aitkin while still having the cabin. She has lived in the Aitkin area since. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church, the Moose Lodge, and the Aitkin American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed fishing, visiting with neighbors and friends, and watching baseball and football.
She is survived by nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother Anna Grote, husband Ernest in 2008, 2 brothers Albert and Leo and 2 sisters Cecelia and Olivia.
A memorial service will be held Friday, April 29, 2011 at 2 p.m. from St. James Catholic Church in Aitkin with Fr. Justin Fish officiating. Burial will be in the St. Thomas Cemetery at Aitkin. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Arrangements are with the Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin.
