Local youth compete at State Hershey Meet
The Morris Area Hershey's Track and Field Team had 13 athletes compete in the state meet held in Sartell on Saturday, June 28. Athletes that competed in the meet were Ryan Bowman, Anna Grove, Britta Engebretson, Sydney Engebretson, Rachel Rausch, Jacob and Emma Zosel, John and Justine Huebner, Abby Travis, and Jordan Thooft. Max Peterson and Justin Goosen from Benson also competed in the 4x100 meter relay team.
With the exception of some technical difficulties in the timing system early on, the meet was an overall success. The weather was almost ideal and there was a great turnout of parents, family and friends supporting and cheering on their Morris team.
Jonathan Fleischmann, Hunter and Anika Mundal, and Layton Connelly (Benson) also qualified for the state meet, but were unable to make it due to injury and other commitments. The coaches enjoyed working with a great group of kids this summer. Morris Area Community Education and coaches are very proud of each and every individual member of the Morris Area Hershey's Track Team and are looking forward to next season. Many parents, family members, and community individuals volunteered their time and support throughout the season.
