Lucille K. Magnuson Mahlow
Lucille K. Magnuson Mahlow, 80, of Morris formerly of Kandiyohi, died Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at West Wind Village in Morris. Her funeral will be 2 p.m, Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Maranatha Bible Church in Willmar. Burial will be in Green Lake Lutheran Cemetery, rural Spicer. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Friday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Lucille Kathryn was born on April 4, 1930, the daughter of Casper and Selma (Estwick) Bratland on Elkhorn Lake, Kandiyohi County. She grew up in Kandiyohi, graduating from Willmar High School in 1948.
On April 22, 1950, she was united in marriage to Virgil Magnuson at Spicer. Following their marriage, they lived in Kandiyohi. Virgil preceded her in death on July 31, 1979. Lucille continued to live in Kandiyohi until 1981.
On August 15, 1981, she was united in marriage to Clarence Mahlow and they moved to Bird Island. Lucille did cooking, housekeeping and daycare throughout her working time. Clarence preceded Lucille in death in 1994 and in 2008 she moved to West Wind Village in Morris.
She enjoyed all crafts, quilting, sewing, making dolls, especially, Raggedy Ann and Andy.
Surviving are her children, Dianne (and Ronnie) Larcom of Kandiyohi; Sandra (and David) Lief of Mason City, Iowa; Pamela (and Jerry) Gustafson of Chokio; Kenton (and Betty) Magnuson of Spicer; 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren. Also surviving are step children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her twin sister, LaVonne (and Herbert) Kallevig of Kandiyohi and brother, Ardell (and Irene) Bratland of Watertown, S.D.
Besides her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ardyce Sonnek and great granddaughter, Vanessa Lief.
