Funeral Services for Luella Blanche Max of Starbuck, formerly of Morris will be held Monday, Nov. 3, 2008 at 2 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Morris. Reverend Todd Mattson will officiate. Burial will be at Summit Cemetery in Morris.
Luella Blanche Max was born on Aug. 3, 1916 in Walnut Grove, Minn. a daughter of Martin and Blanche (Tauber) Gullickson. She was baptized on Sept. 3, 1916 in Walnut Grove by Reverend H. Cahill. Luella grew up in Starbuck, Minn. and attended Glenwood High School. She was united in marriage on Nov. 28, 1935 to Rudolf Max in Glenwood. The couple moved to Morris and raised their family. Luella worked at Lindrud's Variety Store for many years after her children were out of school. Rudy passed away on February 16, 1994. In 2002 Luella moved to the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck.
She was a active member of First Lutheran Church and it's ladies groups. Luella enjoyed knitting and crocheting, but above all she loved her family and was very proud of all of them.
She died on Friday, Oct. 31, 2008 at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck having lived to reach the age of 92.
Luella is survived by her son: Ron (Barb) Max of Hutchinson, Minn.; daughter: Diane and Wallis Feuchtenberger of Morris; 11 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; sister: Beulah Dovel of Glenwood; sisters-in-law: Emily Gullickson of Starbuck and Grace Nelson of California. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Rudy; brothers: Ivan and Walter Gullickson and a granddaughter: Amy Feuchtenberger.
Pallbearers for the service will be Kevin Max, Mike Max, Marc Max, Dennis Feuchtenberger, Ken Feuchtenberger, Tim Feuchtenberger and Craig Feuchtenberger. Deb Mahoney will serve as organist and Ken Hodgson will be the soloist. Pedersen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
