Lund, Arnold earn All-American honors
The Minnesota State University Moorhead track and field team proved to be a driving force as the NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships came to an end. Six Dragons earned All American honors at the championships this past weekend in Mankato, Minn.
The men's 4x400 team placed seventh with a time of 3:16.94. The team of Lincoln Arnold, Ryan Olson, Cory Shufelt, and Aaron Lund received All-American honors for their finish.
Lincoln Arnold is a 2010 graduate of Morris Area High School and is now in his sophomore year at MSUM. Aaron Lund is a 2007 graduate of MAHS and is in his final year of eligibility as a Dragon. The two competed together for MAHS back is 2007 with an All-State performance in the 4x400m relay. The two Morris natives look to continue their success together as a part of the 4x400m relay when they begin the outdoor season in April.
Also competing for the Dragons is sophomore Jackson Henrich. He is a 2010 Graduate of MAHS and has made tremendous improvements so far as a Dragon. At the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championships held in Mankato, February 23-24, 2012, Jackson was All-Conference in the Weight Throw placing third with a personal best throw of 16.09m ( 52' 9.5").
All-American Dragons include (from left) Aaron Lund, Anna VanWechel, Loquone Robinson, Cory Shufelt, Ryan Olson, and Lincoln Arnold. VanWechel was third in the one-mile run and Robinson was second in the 60m dash, long jump, and 60m hurdles.
