MAES first and second graders to present spring programs
Morris Area Elementary School first and second grade classes will be presenting their spring programs on Thursday, April 26 in the Morris Area Elementary Concert Hall.
"Celebrate You and Me" is the theme for the first grade concert which will be held at 6:30 p.m. The children will sing songs that relate to being a good friend, how each of us is unique, and about spreading kindness. The first graders' artwork will also be displayed.
The second grade classes will present "Let's Be Peacemakers" at 7:30 p.m. The focus of their program is how to be a good friend. The students have been learning about five tools to help resolve conflicts. This learning has been through lessons, songs, and creating and painting banners with the help of artist Della Conroy. The banners will be displayed at the concert.
MAES received a grant from the Perpich Center for Arts Education to bring the visual arts experience into the lessons on respect and friendship.
The first graders perform at 6:30 p.m. and second graders perform at 7:30 p.m. in the Concert Hall on April 26. The concerts are free and open to the public
