MAES Obstacle Course
Morris Minnesota 607 Pacific Avenue 56267

The Morris Area Elementary School obstacle course is the most fun unit for the kids K-6 said MAES Physical Education teacher Mrs. Winkelman. Pictured are some MAES first graders, from Mrs. Johnson's class, working their way through the course full of physical obstacles and even some problem solving challenges.

The course has been set up for a few weeks now and rotates through 600 students in kindergarten through sixth grade every three days. The challenge for the teacher is to make the course easy enough for kindergarteners and first graders to complete, but at the same time not-so-easy for the fifth and sixth graders, so some minor changes are made in the afternoon for the fifth and sixth grade students to find the course just as fun and challenging as the younger kids.

Students who finish the course (everyone) get to put their name on the Obstacle Course Wall of Fame at the end of class.
