MAES sixth graders talk Minnesota history
On Monday, May 12, the sixth graders of Morris Area Elementary School and teacher Jerry Witt held the annual Minnesota history open house showcase in the elementary gymnasium.
In order to move on to seventh grade, each student had to research and prepare a 10-page paper on a Minnesota history topic of their choice. The topics ranged from Minnesota fishing and Pheasants Forever to the Minnesota State Fair and state parks to milling, railroads, and the music industry.
Sam Burks (pictured above) chose to research Minnesota Railroads because of his interest in transportation.
