Man airlifted to Fargo after ATV accident Wednesday

MORRIS, Minn. - A 54-year-old Stevens County man was airlifted to a hospital in Fargo after a rollover ATV accident in Donnelly, the Stevens County Sheriff's Office reports.

The operator of the ATV, Robert Kopel, said he had been attempting to dump rocks on a ditch embankment on his farm, 58384 140th Street, Donnelly, when the 4-wheeler tumbled about 11 feet to the bottom of the ditch at about 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11.

Kopel was able to free himself and was transported to Stevens Community Medical Center by a relative. Kopel was later airlifted to Sanford Health in Fargo, N.D.

The accident is currently under investigation by the Stevens County Sheriff's Office.
