Funeral services for Margery Koehl of Morris will be held Friday, July 31, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the Apostolic Christian Church, rural Morris. The Apostolic Christian Ministers will be officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4 to 8 PM at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Margery Elizabeth Koehl, daughter of Chris and Elizabeth (Messner) Koehl, was born August 3, 1913 in Larchwood, Iowa. At a young age, Margery's family moved to Morris, Minnesota, where she grew up and attended school. She later graduated from Morris Public Schools. Following her schooling, she moved to Peoria, Illinois, where she worked for Bell Telephone Company. When she retired from the telephone company, she moved to Texas for a short time, before moving back to Morris in 1983. Margery had continued to make her home in Morris until the time of her death.
Margery was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church since 1930. After her retirement she volunteered at the Morris Public Schools and the RFC. She enjoyed needlework, traveling and walking. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her many nieces and nephews and her friends.
Margery died on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at her home in Morris, MN, having lived to reach the age of 95 years.
She is survived by one sister: Thelma Dogotch of Hancock and 22 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers: Edward, Edwin, Adolph, Jack and Karl Koehl.
Pallbearers for the service are: Edward Koehl, Karl Koehl, Tom Dogotch, Steve Schaefer, Tony Messner and Jim Koehl. The Apostolic Christian Church Choir will provide special music for the service. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
