Master Gardener Training being offered in Morris

Core course training for the University of Minnesota Extension Master Gardener program will be held in Morris beginning March 15.

The training will be held at the West Central Research and Outreach Center.

The Master Gardener Core Course includes 48 hours of classroom instruction by University of Minnesota personnel. This instruction covers twelve basic topics concerned with all phases of gardening, lawn care, pesticide safety and landscape design.

After completing the Core Course, you will be expected to complete an internship of 50 hours of volunteer service the first year by working on volunteer projects approved by the county master gardener coordinator. Upon completion of the Core Course and the internship, you will become a certified master gardener. To continue as a master gardener, you will be expected to perform 25 hours of volunteer service and earn five hours of educational updates each year.
