MBA Storm girls notch 10-4 win

The Morris Benson Area girls' hockey team picked up a 10-4 win Tuesday at Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Wadena-Deer Creek.

The Blue Devils got on the board first midway through the first period, but the Storm answered with two of their own in less than a minute.

Dani Schultz scored first on assists from Emily Rajewsky and Brooke Anderson, and then on a power play with help from Sam Falk and Dani Staples.

In the second period, the Storm increased the lead to four points.

Sara Rajewsky scored early in the period on a Sam Falk assist.

Katia Vantries made it 4-1 with an assist from Sara Rajewsky 3:23 into the period.

Just 23 seconds later Kelly Mahoney scored with assists from Schultz and Sam Falk.

The Blue Devils managed a goal to make it 5-2, but the Rajewsky sisters answered just 12 seconds later with another Storm goal. Emily recorded the goal while Sara was credited with the assist.

Schultz got another hat trick midway through the period with an unassisted goal.

The Blue Devils made it 7-3 with one of their own midway through the period.

The scoring slowed down until 6:39 into the third period when Vantries scored off assists from Sara Rajewsky and Abby Knutson.

Schultz scored her fourth of the game, before the Blue Devils made it 9-4.

With less than five minutes remaining in the game, Schultz capped off the scoring on a power play with assists from Monica Lindblad and Anderson.

Brooke Falk had 23 saves in the Storm net.
