Men's soccer outdone 2-0 by Hamline
The University of Minnesota, Morris men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision on the road at Hamline Saturday.
The Cougars were outshot 7-3 by Hamline in the first half, but came back to outshoot the Pipers 7-4 in the second half.
The Pipers first got on the board with a goal from Javier Rios at the 21:04 mark, and 1-0 is where the score would stay for the rest of the half. The assist on the goal came from Moe Tageldin, who got his own goal early in the second half on an assist from Rios, as he repaid the favor at the 47:58 mark.
As they outshot the Pipers in the second half, the Cougars planted three of their shots on the net in the period, but were unable to find the back of the net as keeper Zach Nelson finished with three saves on the day.
Tyler Weber took the loss in net for the Cougars, finishing with one save and two goals against on the day.
Matt Vik, Ryan Cadigan, and Toby Glaser each led the way for the Cougars with two shots apiece in the match, as UMM tallied 10 as a team.
The Cougars also beat the Pipers in corners with six on the afternoon to just two for Hamline.
