MORRIS, Minn. - Minnesota Commissioner of Agriculture Dave Frederickson was in Morris on Monday, March 19 to congratulate Morris Area agriculture instructor and FFA advisor Natasha Mortenson and the Morris Area FFA as the recipients of the Ag Literacy Award from the United States Department of Agriculture for their Ag in the Classroom program.

Frederickson said he hopes to engage state FFA officers monthly to learn more about what the department should be working on to help students and farmers.

"So many times, we adults have the tendency to go, 'Thank you so much for your good work,' and pat you on the head and that's it," said Frederickson. "I hope to engage you through your state officer organization to come to the department and sit down and let me know what's on your mind."
