Minnewaska takes WCC titles in golf

Minnewaska came in first at both West Central Conference golf meets Thursday, May 15 scoring a 170 at Benson and a 153 at Montevideo.

The Lakers won all 10 conference meets this season.

Over the course of the conference season, the Laker girls golf team won the WCC title by a combined 195 shots over runner-up BOLD.

Minnewaska's Jenna Janu won seven meets outright and tied for first in the three other meets on the year.

The Morris Area / Chokio-Alberta Tiger boys tied for seventh place in the conference, and Jacob Zosel received all conference honors, placing fifth in the overall standings.

The Tiger girls took fourth, just seven points behind third place Sauk Centre. Shiori Legate received all conference honors, placing 11th overall.

The Tigers now travel to Ortonville on Wednesday, May 21 for subsection playoffs.
