Minnie Amberg, a longtime resident of the Morris area, passed away March 22 at the Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care in Glencoe, Minn. She
was 89 years of age.
Minnie Jeanette Klingenberg was born Jan. 8, 1924, on the family farm in Brown County, Minn. She attended country schools in Brown County and graduated in 1941 from Springfield High School in Springfield, Minn. Minnie
graduated from New Ulm Teacher Training Department and later attended Duluth Teachers College. She taught in country schools in Redwood and Stevens counties.
Minnie was united in marriage to Leo Amberg on June 11, 1946 at St. Marys Church in Chokio. The union was blessed with 12 children.
Minnie is survived by seven daughters, Rita, JoAnn, Marion, Teresa, Marie, MaDonna and Ruth; four sons, Jerome, David, Timothy and Roy; 13 grandchildren
and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Richard and her husband Leo.
The family will hold a private memorial service, with internment at St. Marys Cemetery, rural Chokio.
