Morris' annual Memorial Day program begins again this year with a breakfast for veterans from 6:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. at the American Legion.

The Memorial Day program begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Morris National Guard Armory, with music until 9 a.m.

Introductions, the escort of Gold Star family members and Posting of Colors begins at 9 a.m.

Pastor Todd Mattson leads the Invocation and Benediction.

Following the Pledge of Allegiance, Stacy Lovas will sing the National Anthem. Myrna Tomalla, AmVets Auxiliary President will present a reading.

Legion Commander Victor Gades will present the Memorial Day Address. Gades, is a Hancock High School graduate and long-time Morris resident who served in the U.S. Navy from 1970 to 1976. He assumed command of the Morris Legion in June 2009.

AmVets Commander Robert Lubenow will lead a Silent Tribute to the Dead.

Following the Benediction and Retirement of Colors, participants are encouraged to join a parade to the cemetery, where VFW Auxiliary President Helen Kill will lead the service.
