Morris Area girls make strides at Minnewaska, home track
The Morris Area girls' track and field team made strides at the Minnewaska Area meet Friday and at home Tuesday on the University of Minnesota, Morris campus.
The Tigers finished in fourth place with 99 points.
Rachel Moser took first place in three events. She crossed the finish line first in both the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.31 seconds and the 200-meter with a time of 28.16. She also placed first in the pole vault with a height of nine feet, six inches.
Jenna Nelson took first place in the long jump with a distance of 15-5.5 inches.
Julia Sauder took third in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 54.96.
Katia Vantries placed third in the shot put with a throw of 28-2.
The Morris Area 4X400 relay team placed third with a time of 4:37.44.
Tara Fehr placed fourth in the pole vault with a 7-0.
Vantries took fourth in the discus with a throw of 82.
Three Morris Area relay teams placed fourth, the 4X100, 4X200, and 4X800, with times of 58.42, 2:06.71, and 11:09.72.
Katie Huot took fifth place in the pole vault with a 6-6.
Kayla Feuchtenberger took fifth in the shot put with a 27-9.
Erica Domnick placed fifth in the high jump with a 4-6.
Huot took fifth in the long jump with a 14-2.25.
Sarah Kuhn finished the 800-meter fifth in 2:48.
Kelly Mahoney placed fifth in the 3200-meter with a time of 14:57.
Tina Larson placed sixth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 69.43.
