Morris Area High School class of 2009 will receive diplomas Friday

76 Morris Area graduates will receive diplomas during 2009 Commencement exercises Friday evening.

The program begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Morris Area Elementary gymnasium.

Senior class president Christine Schneider will offer the student welcome, followed by vocal selections from the A Cappella Choir.

Class salutatorian Bess Boever will give a speech, followed by a selection performed by the wind ensemble.

Class valedictorian Kelsey Amundson will also give a speech, followed by the class video and class slide show.

MAHS principal Mike Coquyt will present the class, and school board chair Kurt Gartland and Superintendent Scott Monson will present the diplomas.

The class motto is "Life brings us tears, smiles and memories - the tears dry, the smiles fade, but the memories last forever."

The class flower is the Gerber daisy.

Class colors are lime green, black and silver.
