Morris Area improves to 3-3 in softball
Morris Area improved to 3-3 on the season with a 7-2 win over Lac qui Parle Valley Monday at home.
Mackenzie Weatherly recorded two strikeouts in each of the first, second, third, fourth and seventh innings en route to finishing with 12.
Lac qui Parle Valley grabbed a 2-1 lead on Karley Wier's RBI single and Tianna Tosel's run-scoring groundout.
Morris Area pulled ahead in the fourth when Katie Holzheimer scored on the Eagles' attempt to throw out a runner stealing second and Dani Schultz came home on a wild pitch.
The Tigers added four runs in the sixth behind Hannah Sayles' single with the bases loaded.
Schultz and Sayles each had two hits. Mary Rentz, Caroline Fritz, and Weatherly had one apiece.
