Morris Area fell to Benson and Montevideo to complete the week with three losses, all in five-game matches.

"The girls have been fighting hard and are focused on the up-coming games," said coach Becky Hayden. "They know what they need to do and we believe we can play with any team in our conference. We have proven that to ourselves. Now we just need to go out and do it with the games we have left."

The Tigers have four more regular-season matches remaining. Monday the Tigers host Brooten-Belgrade-Elrosa. The Jaguars are 18-1 overall this season.

On Tuesday Morris Area hosts Paynesville.

Tuesday the Tigers hosted the Braves, falling short in five with scores of 25-19, 21-25, 25-10, 23-25, and 15-13.

Other than the third game, the Tigers kept it a close match against the Braves, who are tied with YME at the top of the West Central Conference South.

Mary Rentz led the Tigers with six kills, along with eight digs.

Dani Staples, Jenna Nelson, and Erin Schieler had four kills apiece.

Schieler also recorded five ace serves, four ace blocks, and seven digs.

Staples added two ace blocks and Nelson had one dig.

Setter Brianna Neuman recorded 33 assists, along with one kill, one ace block, two serving aces, and 12 digs.

Brooke Anderson led the Tigers with 13 digs and had two serving aces.

Heather Gagner and Kelsey Amundson each recorded 12 digs.

Alissa Melberg had one kill and six digs.

Sara Beyer had one kill, one ace block, and three digs.

On Thursday the Tigers traveled to Montevideo where, for the third time this week, they lost in five games, 24-26, 27-25, 18-25, 25-13, and 15-8.

Both Schieler and Nelson paced the Tigers with 10 kills apiece.

Nelson had two ace serves, two ace blocks, and nine digs.

Schieler also recorded two ace blocks and three digs.

Melberg contributed seven kills and one ace block.

Rentz recorded six kills, one ace serve, one ace block, and seven digs.

Both Staples and Beyer had two kills.

Staples added one ace block, while Beyer had two kills, three ace blocks, and four digs.

Gagner led the Tigers with four ace serves and recorded six digs.

Neuman recorded 27 set assists, along with two ace blocks and three digs.

Anderson led the Tigers with 13 digs, along with one ace serve.

Amundson had seven digs for the Tigers.

Shawna Itzen added one ace block and one dig.

Fallon Meixel recorded one dig for the Tigers.
