Morris Area School Board preview: Audit results, junior high gymnastics
Agenda items at the Morris Area School Board meeting tonight at 7 p.m. in the Morris Senior Center include a presentation of audit results and a discussion about hiring a junior high gymnastics coach.
First on the agenda, Brian Stavengr with the accounting firm Eide Bailly will present the results from the district's annual audit.
According to the company's report, the district received a "clean" audit, which means the district's financial statements were prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting practices and are free from material misstatement.
Later in the meeting, the board will discuss whether to hire a junior high gymnastics coach.
According to a memo from Superintendent Scott Monson, the district anticipates having more than 30 likely participants in gymnastics this year.
Since the position is not currently listed, it would need to be a new position. If approved, the coach would likely cost between $1,281 to $1,506 per season.
