A tentative agreement between the district and the MTA was reached at the beginning of January, but Superintendent Scott Monson could not disclose the terms before members of the school board and MTA had reviewed the contract.

According to information provided in advance of Tuesday's meeting, the new agreement includes overall compensation increases of 2.75 percent for 2011-2012 and 3.17 percent for 2012-2013. It also revises the district's contribution for health insurance after retirement.

Other items on Tuesday's agenda include approving the 2012-2013 school calendar and accepting a quote for law care services for 2012 to 2015.

The board will meet in a special session at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday to review potential school district and school board goals.

Earlier this year, the board agreed on three school district goals for the year:

• Use Northwest Education Association scores a way to measure academic progress

• Develop a program for behavioral goals that is consistent with core values and delivered to all students and staff

• Draft a five-year technology plan by July 2012.

School board goals under consideration include, among other talking points, completing a systematic analysis and five to 10 year improvement plan, increase community and business partnerships and put together an attendance sheet for all board and subcommittee meetings.

A full copy of Tuesday's agenda is attached to this article. Look for a full re-cap of Tuesday's meeting online later this week and in Saturday's edition of the Sun Tribune.
