Morris boys pick up 20th win

The Morris Area boys' basketball team picked up win number 20 this season with a 70-37 victory at Paynesville Tuesday.

The win improves the Tigers' overall record to 20-3 and moves them to 14-2 in the West Central Conference South. While leading the conference, the Tigers have also secured the top spot in section 6AA West and will host a quarter-final game Thursday, March 12.

Lincoln Arnold and Jackson Henrich led the Tigers with 23 and 19 points, respectively.

The Tigers were shooting at 44.6 percent (29-65), while the Bulldogs were hitting 27.8 percent (15-54).

At the free-throw line, the Tigers were 9-of-19. Paynesville was 4-of-9.

Chris Scott grabbed 14 rebounds to lead the Tigers.

Taylor Nohl and Lincoln Arnold dished out five assists apiece. Scott recorded four assists.

Also scoring for the Tigers were Cory Hennen with seven, Chris Scott with six, Corey Nohl with five, Josh Love with four, Grant Gagner with three, Taylor Nohl with two, and Eric Riley with one.
