Correction: The original version of this article misidentified council member Bill Storck as Ted Storck. We apologize for the mistake.

MORRIS, Minn. - The Morris City Council elected council member Jeff Miller to serve as Mayor Pro Tem again this year at their meeting Tuesday night. Mayor Sheldon Giese also appointed council members as ex-officios to local boards and made citizen appointments to those boards.

This year, the council members will serve in ex-officio status on the following boards:

• Giese: Stevens County Economics Improvement Commission, Tourism Board

• Miller: Planning Commission, Human Rights Commission, West Central Initiative

• Council member Twig Webster: Park Board, Chamber of Commerce

• Council member Matt Carrington: RFC Board, Community Education

• Council member Bill Storck: Airport Board, Rental Housing Commission.

Giese also appointed citizen members to the boards. Many city boards still have vacancies including the Library Board, Human Rights Commission, Housing and Redevelopment Authority Board, Planning Commission and Rental Housing Commission.

City Manager Blaine Hill, Giese and Miller all encouraged residents interested in serving on city boards to contact Hill at Morris City Hall by calling (320) 589-3141.
