Morris Eagles win 3 straight

The Morris Amateur baseball team picked up three wins to improve the Eagles' record to 9-0 in the Land O' Ducks Wood League.

Rosen 4

The Eagles out hit the Rosen Express 17-6 at home June 24 on the way to a 12-4 victory.

The game was shortened to seven innings due to lightning that was entering the area.

Matt Carrington pitched seven innings for the win and upped his record to 2-0.

Josh Griffith and Kirby Marquart led the Eagles' offense with three hits apiece.

Ross Haugen, Kirby Marquart, and Tony Schultz recorded doubles.

Dumont 1

In Dumont June 26, the Eagles used a one-hit pitching performance to defeat the Saints 3-1.

Adam Torkelson took a no-hitter into the ninth inning, but it was broken up with a one-out, clean single to left field.

Eric Asche, Kirby Marquart, and Schultz had two hits apiece.

The Eagles played good defense behind Torkelson as only one error was committed.

Raymond 3

The Eagles completed a season sweep of the Raymond Rockets on Wednesday, July 1 with a 9-3 win.

Carrington gave the Eagles seven strong innings of work and Craig Knockenmus finished up the game with his first two innings of work for the season.

The Eagles used hot bats and Raymond errors to gain a comfortable victory.

The Eagles were led by Carrington and Knockenmus who had four hits apiece with Carrington adding four RBIs.
