Morris native given Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota Distinguished Alumni Award
MORRIS -- Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota recently recognized Morris native Kathy Wilde as one of the 2013 recipients of the Distinguished Alumni Award. Wilde was one of only five distinguished alumni selected out of the college’s 23,000 plus graduates. The award was presented on March 9 at the “March Back to Saint Mary’s” All-Program Reunion in Minneapolis.
Wilde is a 1971 graduate of Morris High School and is the daughter of Allan and Marvel Anderson of Morris. Allan and Marvel returned for a long weekend from their winter home in Mesa, Arizona to attend the recognition event.
Wilde graduated from Saint Mary’s in 1992 with a Master’s degree in Health and Human Services Administration and since 2007 has served as the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) at Hennepin County Medical Center. With more than 39 years of experience in nursing and the healthcare field, Wilde has held a variety of roles that include staff nurse, nurse clinician, nurse manager, director, and senior vice president. Her vision and passion for patient and family centered care and quality and safety has inspired nursing and medical staff to strive for achievements like the Beacon Award for Nursing Excellence in Critical Care and Minnesota Hospital Association awards for best workplace and for charge nurse leadership model.
